Homeopathy aims to maintain natural balance in a wholistic way.

'Like may be cured by like' is the homeopathic principal. Homeopathic practitioners believe that by administering a micro dose of a substance which mimics an ailment, the body's defences may be roused into action. Because of the extreme dilution, homeopathy is considered to be a very safe and natural way to tackle problems which our horses and pets can suffer from. It is believed that homeopathy stimulates the animal's own healing systems and that it may address the underlying cause, rather than just dealing with the symptoms.

A 'mother tincture' is prepared, using an extract from a mineral or plant , such as Arnica for example. The tincture is then diluted as many times as necessary to achieve the required 'potency'. The most commonly used dilution is 6c - here the 'mother tincture' is diluted 6 times by a factor of 100! Remedies are dispensed in palatable sugar tablet form. For many common conditions, homeopathy offers an inexpensive, natural solution.
