Rebounding
Is The Most Efficient Form Of Exercise Known To Man!
Who Says So? N.A.S.A.! Researchers from the North American Space Agency have stated that simple bouncing exercises on a rebounder are "the most efficient form of exercise yet devised by man". When you exercise, you place your body in a controlled stress situation. Whether you opt for swimming, jogging, cycling, weight training or a gym work-out, you'll only be exercising certain parts of your body at any one time. That is why most keep fit routines utilise several different forms of exercise to achieve results because, to succeed, a good exercise programme needs to reach every cell in the body. But rebounding can do just that - on its own! How Does It Work? When you rebound, three forces - gravity, acceleration and deceleration - combine to exert a simultaneous rhythmic force on every cell in the body. Here's how it happens: the body cells are under zero gravity stress at the 'top' of the bounce, then rapid deceleration occurs at the 'bottom' of the bounce which, combined with the normal force of gravity, stimulates all the body tissues at up to twice the force of gravity. Not only that, but a Rebounder is a low-impact aerobic exerciser. Give the body cells too little work and they'll degenerate and weaken; over-stress them, though, to the point of rupture and you'll cause injury. But, stress the body cells in the correct way and they'll be become strong and well-toned. Ten minutes on a Rebounder is equivalent to a thirty minute jog... and without the jarring effect on your musculo-skeletal system! Who Can Use A Rebounder? Almost anyone! Rebounders are versatile, easy to use and reasonably priced. They don't take up a lot of space and can be used indoors or outdoors by every member of the family. Children think rebounding is great! Young and old alike can keep fit without having to expend a lot of time, money and effort in the process! Less able pensioners can even use a support bar if necessary! A mere one minute of gentle bouncing on a good quality Rebounder three times a day is enough to be beneficial. But, once you've started rebounding and begun to feel the benefits, you'll almost certainly want to do more! Obviously, if you have a heart condition or other debilitating illness, you'll need to speak to your doctor before embarking on any exercise regime... But most up-to-date health care practitioners are only too happy to recommend the use of an aerobic bouncer. Rebounders can be found in sports centres, health clubs, gymnasiums, dance and aerobic classes, senior citizen's clubs, hospital physiotherapy and rehabilitation departments, centres for the physically and mentally handicapped, sports injury clinics, schools and playschools all over the U.S.A. And now they're catching on here too! Physiotherapists, physiologists and sports coaches are impressed with the results. Why??? |

Choosing A Suitable Rebounder Beware of cheap imitations - their flimsy construction won't stand up to regular adult use and the excess 'spring' they allow can cause muscle and joint problems. A good quality Rebounder will have: |
